Artistic Director Subathra Subramaniam is looking for strong, experienced and creative Bharata Natyam dancers for a new work The Shiver to launch her company. Dancers must be open to working creatively within a contemporary context with minimum 2 years professional experience, to perform in an interdisciplinary work involving dance and text. Dancers must be available from 12th April to 18th June 2010 and again from 20th September to the end of November 2010 for rehearsal and a national tour.
Auditions are by invitation only and will be held at the Wycombe Swan Theatre, High Wycombe on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2010. To apply please send by email a full cv and a short statement of your interest to Louise Hennessy at South East Dance by March 12th 2010. Dancers invited to audition will be informed by the 17th of March and successful dancers will be notified by the 26th of March

- Extend runs from September 2009 until March 2010 and will support dance artists to develop skills in creating and managing dance events and collaborating with cultural workers in production, event management, technical, front of house and programming. This is an intensive skills programme and we are looking for committed and creative learners to be the first cohort of Extend beneficiaries. The programme involves completing a portfolio of written and media-based evidence; undertaking work –based tasks; working on live events; attending masterclasees and seminar sessions. The group will also be given specific events to manage, with support from Akademi staff.
